Port Orchard Farmers Market

KITSAP HARBOR FESTIVAL
The second annual Harbor Festival is happening on Memorial Day Weekend and our farmers market will be open both Saturday and Sunday 9-3.  Come down to the waterfront and stop by the market while you are at it as part of your fun day.  We will be right in the middle of the “happenings”.  Here’s the schedule for Saturday and Sunday.


Saturday, May 29, 2010
· 7:00AM – 10:30AM  Pancake Breakfast on the Bremerton Boardwalk prepared by the Bremerton Lions  Club
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Boats Afloat Show – Boats for sale on the docks at the Port Orchard and Bremerton Marinas
· 10:00AM – 7:00PM – Vendor Booths and Live Entertainment on the Bremerton Boardwalk schedule below:
·  10:00AM – 10:15AM – Carrie Kay sings the National Anthem
·   10:30AM – 11:00AM – Kitsap Regional Library Story Time
·   11:30AM – Noon – Little Elvis

· 10:00AM – 5:00PM – Virginia V and Tall Ships Tours and Cruises – Virginia V Open Ship in Bremerton – walk through this historic steamship from the old Mosquito Fleet.
About The Steamship Virginia V
The Virginia V is a 125-foot National Historical Landmark Steamship built in 1922 to carry passengers and freight between Vashon Island, Seattle and Tacoma in Washington State. She is the last operational wooden hull steam-powered vessel of Puget Sound’s famed ‘Mosquito Fleet’, a predecessor to the Washington State Ferries system.

· 11:15AM – 2:00PM – Seagull Calling Festival and Seagull Wings Cook-Off on the Port Orchard Waterfront.  Seagull Calling Contest registration at 1:00 PM, contest at 2:00 PM.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Kitsap Harbor Regatta sailboat races at the Bremerton Marina.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Kitsap Arts and Antique Show / 4th Street Market in downtown Bremerton.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM -Kitsap Car Cruz & Historic Military Vehicle Show and P619 Exhibit in downtown Bremerton.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Kitsap Harbor Tours departing from the USS Turner Joy.
· 12:00PM – 6:00PM – Beer Gardens at the Port Orchard Waterfront and on the Bremerton Boardwalk.
· 12:30PM – 1:30PM – Sea Services (Navy, Marines, Coast Guard) Reenlistment Ceremony at the Lone Sailor Memorial on the Bremerton Marina Breakwater

· 4:00PM – 6:00PM – Concert on the Bay (Band: Harbor Lights Brass Quintet) at the Port Orchard Marina Park
· 6:00PM – 7:00PM – Band Concert on the Bremerton Boardwalk (Group TBD)

·  5:30PM Virginia V departs Port Orchard for Seattle.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Kitsap Harbor Regatta sailboat races at the Bremerton Marina.
· 10:00AM – 4:00PM – Kitsap Harbor Tours departing from the USS Turner Joy.

FOR GARDENERS:
It’s planting season for sure now!  Nighttime weather temperatures have finally gone back to normal so get your summer veggies and flowers planted.  You will find a huge number of tomato plant varieties at the market, as well as many other veggie starts.  Also, beautiful hanging baskets and other flowers and shrubs, for those who don’t feel the need to eat the plants they grow!  Many of our growers have varieties you can’t find elsewhere, as well as organically grown products.
