November Means Local Food, Fun and Elections

November 3 has come and gone but November 10, the most important election date for local food in Kitsap is upon us. That’s right, tonight the Kitsap Community and Agricultural Alliance is holding elections for our new candidates for our board of directors. Once again, here are the details:

Annual General Meeting
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 6:30 pm
Norm Dicks Center
345 Sixth Street
Bremerton, WA 98337

Election nights are renowned for their victory and defeat parties while candidates and their supporters feast the night away awaiting the decisions of the voters. In 2009 the difference between November 3 and November 10 is that for the latter there will be no losers. We all will win because of the quality and proven resolve of our new board member prospects to achieve something concrete for local food in 2010.

Now, that is worthy of a celebration so we will also be welcoming some of our Local Food Chef Showoff stars including Cynthia, aka C.J., Jeffries-Cyr, Richard Kost, Monica and Mark Downen to prepare some choice, seasonal, local food supplied by Paul Gregory of Gregory Farm among others and mash up the election and the parties into one, time saving, high impact event. And, like nearly all political events we will be seeking a, well, donation …. for the food.

Only members will be eligible to vote and they must be present but everyone will have a chance to express their thoughts about priorities for the KCAA in 2010 and to discuss them with the volunteers that have stepped forward to do the work. Read more about our candidates from here:
