What: Meeting to plan a Buy Local Kitsap campaign

Dear Local Food Enthusiast,
You are invited to join other Kitsap County groups and individuals at a meeting to plan a Buy Local Kitsap campaign.
The Kitsap Community and Agricultural Alliance proposes to put together a Buy Local Food campaign for local farmers. The KCAA board has become aware of many groups planning similar initiatives. At the January general meeting there was a lot of enthusiasm for bringing those groups together to share ideas and to coordinate our efforts.
KCAA agreed to sponsor and plan the meeting.
Groups and individuals invited to this planning session include farmers markets, chambers of commerce, county policy and development agencies, local clubs, food producers, and others interested in the campaign. The idea is to bring in any group which might be interested in a buy local campaign.
Ideally we would have a representative from every group invited, hopefully not too many more than one or two people so the meeting doesn’t get unwieldy. The goal of the meeting is to assemble a committee to organize the campaign.
In phase one the campaign focus on food, later phases would include other types of buy local initiatives. Chris Plemmons has graciously consented to coordinate the meeting.
