Marilyn Holt Bringing It Fresh

KCAA is the lightning rod for farm and fresh, local food issues in Kitsap
County. The initiatives, the blog, and the momentum that continues to grow
makes it a very exciting group.

KCAA must continue to promote local food, local farms, and local farm issues
through its continued involvement with the mobile meat unit, arranging
appropriate USDA food storage facilities, and helping the outlets of locally
grown food reach their potential customer base. Programs, such as the dinner with Nash Huber and Kate Dean, should become quarterly events, with time for people to meet and greet, from all walks of life. The monthly KCAA meetings are well-attended and they need to pushed to the next level of public participation. Good, local food is essential for Kitsap County, not just for good taste, but for our Kitsap way of life.

I am a founding director of the KCAA and look forward to working with the very fine array of new candidates for unfilled board positions at the annual general meeting in November. Please join us.
