Jefferson County Artisan Cheeses

Locally Produced Cheese

Wow. Now Your talkin’. Take a look at this interview with Will O’Donnell of Mt. Townsend Creamery. Getting quality cheese is exciting enough but the story of three young men with families starting up a new enterprise like this on the peninsula really gets my motor running.

Kudos to Matt Day, Ryan Trail and Will O’Donnell.

Their products are available at Central Market in Kitsap.

Thanks to Katherine Baril of the WSU extension in Port Townsend for pointing us to this.

One Response to Jefferson County Artisan Cheeses

  1. Mt Townsend Creamery is doing a fantastic job of deliverying a first-classed product to our community. It is a lucky time for a cheese lover to be in our area!
My first taste of their luscious cheeses was when Eliot Coleman came to Port Townsend last December, thanks to Kate Dean, LandWorks outreach coordinator, who just happens to be Will O’Donald’s wife! Will and his partners were serving cheese samples on site. At the time, I was talking up the idea of them participating in the Poulsbo Farmers Market and Will was there for opening day! Since then, each Saturday, he sends his friendly help to vend cheese from 9 am to 1 pm. (The Poulsbo Farmers Market is located near the Doctor’s Clinic, kind of behind Albertson’s. ) They are usually set up right across from my stand, giving me adequate opportunity to sample and make purchases.
I have a favorite cheese I have to talk about. It’s called Seastack and it is a taste to behold! And it’s really reasonably priced for the incredible flavor locked within it’s casing. Truly a gourmet treat.
Thank you, Will and the rest of the crew. Great job!
And, thank you, Katherine Baril and staff for producing this informative film. Good stuff! We need that kind of promotional service in Kitsap County.
